13-16 December 2011, in Nairobi, Kenya

KenyaMeetingGroupPhotograph.jpg The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre organised, in cooperation with Chepkoilel University College, a constituent of Moi University in Kenya and UNEVOC Centre (http://www.unevoc.unesco.org/netw_dir3.php?browse=id&id=458), a sub-regional consultation meeting on the role of UNEVOC Centres in furthering the African Union Second Decade of Education for Africa TVET Plan for action (http://www.nepad.org/system/files/Second%20Decade%20of%20Education%202006-2015.pdf), in Nairobi, Kenya. The International Centre was represented by Mr. Teeluck Bhuwanee, Head of the UNEVOC Network.

The aim was to have a critical look at the progress that has been made in the first half of the African Union Second Decade of Education for Africa TVET Plan for Action. This Plan for Action was launched in 2006 by Africa itself to stress the importance of Quality TVET that responds to the demands of the labour market designed and delivered by educational institutions and other providers in close partnership with prospective employers.
